Urban Forests and Climate Change: Why City Trees Matter with Danica Doroski of CT DEEP

Danica Doroski, State Urban Forestry Coordinator for Connecticut, explains how climate change impacts trees and forests within the urban matrix, how these urban trees can in turn help to offset the effects of climate change, and what this means for the management of CT’s urban forests and beyond. You will also hear an update on plans to improve Norwalk’s tree canopy and how residents can help with this project.

Danica worked as a horticulturalist at the Morris Arboretum in Philadelphia, Volunteer Coordinator for the New York Restoration Project in New York City, and Outreach Coordinator for the New York City Dept of Parks and Recreations before joining the CT Dept of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP).
